    Been binge watching videos for quilting. Have never made one nor haven't really sewn much. Starting off with a 9 patch after watching your videos (seems the easiest lol). Most videos use all these special rulers but appreciate that you don't do that and explain what you are doing .Love your channel so subscribed. Can't wait to see what I can make. May turn into a mess but enjoying trying.

    I am a big proponent of the “sidekick” for rolling bobbins without unthreading your sewing machine.. I love it. Just a thought.

    Another good video. Just a tip, before I start quilting, I take a scrap piece of fabric and lay it down on the edge over the batting and run a line of stitching. That way it is easier to see the back tension before I start.

    I have a love hate with “bobbin chicken” I hate it when I lose😂. Straight line quilting is so modern and I think on that giant, modern, star quilt it’s the perfect pattern.

    I have a small bobbin winder that i love. So much easier to use. I also have a bobbin case (from handiquilter) and i keep the full bobbins in there.

    We do not have a long arm quilting machine . We just roll up our quilt and use our sewing machine. It costs too much to take quilt to material store and have them quilt it. Glad you have yours. God bless.

    Thank you. When I am machine quilting, I always wind 6 to 12 bobbins before I start the quilting. I usually have to wind more bobbins later.

    I so appreciate you showimg how to load the quilting machine. Im hoping to be able to "build" a quilting machine. I need to know how it works. I have done one quit free motion. You can mend that flannel piece in no problem.

    Just a tip. Once you baste your quilt along the top, if you drag a yardstick down the quilt towards the belly bar then clamp, it helps with the fullness.

    April I also have a Qnique 16x that I love. My first long, mid arm machine. However it doesn’t like going from right to left. Is there any tips you have? I’m using the needle’s and thread recommended for my machine.

    • @aprilscraftroom
      @aprilscraftroom  Месяц назад +1

      A lot of machines don’t. I am using finesse thread and my machine loves that thread. The stitch isn’t as perfect going right to left as it is left to right. You just have to play around with the settings and thread to see under what conditions it performs best. 😀

    April, if you are doing straight line quilting is there a reason why you can’t go back and forth versus always start at the same end each time?
